Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (transl. Somebody's Brother, Somebody's Lover), also known by the initials KKBKKJ, is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Salman Khan Films. The film stars Salman Khan, Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde and Jagapathi Babu in a supporting cast.
Principal photography began in May 2022 and ended in February 2023 with filming in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Ladakh. It is scheduled to release on 21 April 2023 on the occasion of the festival of Eid.
Base
Bhaijaan is an honest man, who lives happily with his brothers and uses violence to settle disputes with anyone, but decides to mend his ways for the sake of his Telugu-based girlfriend Bhagya. However, Bhaijaan learns that Bhagya's family is in trouble with "Rowdy" Anna due to their past rival and sets out to protect them without informing anyone.
Development
Director Farhad Samji initially sought to remake the 2014 Tamil film Veeram with Akshay Kumar as Bachchan Pandey (earlier titled Land of Lungi). However later, he changed the script of Bachchan Pandey to remake another Tamil film Jigarthanda. As Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment had the remake rights for both the films, Samji changed the story of Veeram and roped in Salman Khan who accepted the film. [2] [3] Later, Nadiadwala walked out of the project and gave the rights to Khan, who then decided to make the film under his banner Salman Khan Films. [4]
The film was announced on 10 January 2020 with the title Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. However, it was later postponed for a long time and faced several pre-production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was later revived with the reported title Bhaijaan. However, in August 2022, the official title of the film was announced as Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. [5]
Casting
In February 2020, Pooja Hegde was signed as the female lead. [6] In December 2021, Venkatesh joined the cast, making his comeback to Hindi cinema after Takdeerwala (1995). [7] Jassi Gill, Siddharth Nigam and Raghav Juyal were cast to play Khan's brothers in the film. [8] [9]
Punjabi cinema actress Shehnaaz Gill, [10] South Indian cinema actress Malvika Sharma, [11] debutant Palak Tiwari [12] and boxer-politician Vijender Singh were signed, who made his Hindi film debut with this film. Jagapathi Babu was signed on to play a pivotal role, making it his second Hindi film after Radhe Shyam (2022) which also starred Hegde. Aasif Sheikh was signed on to play a pivotal role, with Ram Charan selected for a special appearance. [13] [14]
Filming
Principal photography began on 12 May 2022 in Mumbai. [15] Later in June, the production moved to Hyderabad. [16] [17] In August 2022, a song was shot with some portions in Ladakh. [18] The shooting of the film was to wrap up in February 2023. [19]
music
In June 2022, Bollywood Hungama reported that Ravi Basrur had been approached to compose the background score and a song. The source also claimed that Devi Sri Prasad, who was earlier signed for the film, has opted out of the project. [20] Prasad, however, denied the rumors saying that he had already composed a dance number for the film. [21] Himesh Reshammiya, Sajid Khan, Sukhbir, Payal Dev, Devi Sri Prasad, Ravi Basrur and Amaal Mallik have also been roped in to compose the songs. [22]
The teaser of the song "Naiyo Lagda" was shown during the grand finale of Bigg Boss 16 and a day later, on 12 February 2023, the song was released on YouTube and other music platforms. [23] The second single titled "Billy Billy" was released on 2 March 2023. [24] [25] The third single "Jee Rahe The Hum (Falling in Love)" sung by Salman Khan was released on 21 March 2023. [26] The fourth single titled "Bathukamma" was released on 31 March 2023. [27] The fifth single titled "Yentamma" was released on 4 April 2023. [28]
